🧠🔥 Charlie Steiner: The Spark Plug with a Cannon Arm and a Championship Mindset
Some players show up to play. Others show up to change the game. And when Charlie Steiner joined the Atlanta Southsiders as a pick-up catcher for the PG MLB Player Series Tournament, he didn’t just fit in...he flipped the switch.

Wearing #10 for the first two games and #12 in the championship, Charlie brought a spark that was different. The team was already on fire, but Charlie? He turned the heat all the way up.
From the moment he stepped behind the plate, it was clear: Charlie came to play baseball. Real baseball. Smart baseball. Championship baseball. His baseball IQ is off the charts, and it showed in every pitch he called, every runner he dared to pick off, and every word of encouragement he gave when the boys were down a few runs.
Because when the energy dipped, Charlie didn’t. He reminded the squad, “We're only down by two points. We can still win this.” And guess what? They did.
Charlie’s fearless leadership behind the plate was the glue that held the Southsiders together when the pressure was on. He wasn’t afraid to throw down to any base....first, second, third, didn’t matter. If a runner got greedy, Charlie made them pay. His dominance as catcher didn’t just help us win, it sealed the deal.
Coach Payne summed it up perfectly: “He came in as a weekend addition, but fit in with the team like he’s been there all season. Charlie brought a winner’s mindset that elevated everyone around him.”
And even though he was a pick-up player, Charlie got to reunite with some of his old teammates, Papi Collazo-Rodriguez, Torrey Phillips, and Daniel Castillo, making the weekend feel like a homecoming with a championship twist.

That mindset spread like wildfire. The boys fed off his energy, his confidence, and his control of the game. It was like having a coach in cleats, except this one had a cannon for an arm and ice in his veins.
And when the dust settled?
Back-to-back champions.
Another ring.
We’re beyond thankful Charlie joined us for this tournament. He didn’t just fill a spot, he elevated the entire squad. He reminded us what leadership looks like, what hustle sounds like, and what Southside pride feels like.
Charlie Steiner, you’re a baller, a brain, and a blessing. And now? You’re forever part of our championship story.
